ADJUSTED PRE-TAX LOSS BEFORE CONSOLIDATION AND ELIMINATIONS
Three Months Ended September 30, 2026 and 2025 Comparison
Adjusted pre-tax loss before consolidation and eliminations increased $27 million primarily due to the following:
lower net investment income and other of $27 million primarily driven by the $20 million decline in Corebridge dividend income following the final disposition of our remaining interest in May 2026.
Nine Months Ended September 30, 2026 and 2025 Comparison
Adjusted pre-tax loss before consolidation and eliminations increased $129 million primarily due to the following:
lower net investment income and other of $136 million due to lower average balance with lower yields as a result of declining interest rates and lower Corebridge dividend income of $72 million due to the final disposition of our remaining interest in May 2026; and
higher interest expense of $8 million primarily driven by new debt issuances of €1.125 billion in the three months ended September 30, 2026 and $1.25 billion in 2025 partially offset by interest savings from $0.8 billion debt repurchases, through cash tender offers, debt redemption and debt maturity in 2025.
This increase was partially offset by lower corporate and other general expenses of $15 million.
